Death
When one sees the card Death, they often assume it's a negative card. One that is a harbinger of death itself. However, it actually means change. This change can come in multiple forms from taking on a new job, changing your lifestyle, moving, or even, yes, death. It's a card that stands for endings and beginnings or, more accurately, rebirth.
This is a card that would also have made sense for last month for actual death did occur in my life, which caused a bit of a spiral for me and did change a lot of how I go about my day to day. I think I'm through the worst of the mourning process, however I tear up a bit, even as I write this. It did kinda stop me from wanting to do anything, which is why it took me so long to post this and work on my other projects. I was hoping to have my animation thing done by this month, but it sort of fell by the wayside.
I've been having a lot of dreams involving kittens. Most often with split colored lips like Marcy. It's been not making it easier to get through mourning.
Work has let up a bit more, allowing me more free time, even though I work more in the afternoons now. If you know me, having something I need to do later in the day occupies my mind the whole time, making the morning a wash.
I am expecting to hear from a job in a couple days which would be my first full time job in my field of Conservation Biology. They do, however, mention drug testing in the job posting, which may or may not just be to check for opiates. Which if that's the case, I'll be in the clear. If I get it, it would be a huge change from the last two years for me. I may actually be able to afford a house. Crazy, right?
As for classes, I started 3D Sculpting. This class is designed to teach us Mudbox. It's a program under the Autodesk umbrella. My last class taught us Maya and 3DS Max. I'm concerned that once these classes end and I lose my free trials that I will have to learn a different program like Blender. Not that Blender is bad, I just hope that different skills and knowledge transfer.
For our main project, we need to create something in Maya or 3DS Max and then transfer it over to Mudbox and detail it. It needs to have organic elements. At first I thought to do an idea from my game idea Elditone, however it proved too complicated. After much brainstorming and bouncing ideas off my brother and cousin, I decided on a hock of spiral ham with a mouth and tongue. I have yet to hear feedback from my professor. I may add eyes, but we'll see.
I apologize that this may not be my best written post. It seems disjointed, which is how my mind has been recently as well. I will have out my final game recommendation lists soon and will work on my stupid animation. Sorry it's all taking so long. The days seem to pass so quickly
