Busy Busy Busy
Whenever I get busy, I think about the antagonist from the animated Frosty the Snowman movie. Specifically his nasally voice saying "I'm busy. busy busy busy."
Not important though. No huge updates this week. I've just been busy doing homework, working and not having much free time until I'm already tired and basically braindead.
I'm very tired of hard, uncomfortable chairs. My computer chair is uncomfortable and the chair I've been using at work is uncomfortable. It's taking a toll on my hips. Still another week of not drawing, but I feel my schedule was a bit of an excuse here. In a couple weeks I'm heading to Delaware for my cousin's wedding. After that, I think my schedule will even out. I kinda regret taking an extra day at work. It's exhausting working 9 hours a day, bored for most of it, sitting in an uncomfortable chair. I do need the money....
Mentally, I feel it's taking a toll on me too. My coworkers can't even be bothered to clean and toss out stuff I need, and my boss, while not blatantly an asshole, is not a capable boss. He's inept at catering to customers. He orders things last minute, gives me paychecks late, changes shit without telling me, forgets schedules, doesn't hire enough people, and to top it off: is a failure at advertising. So is his team. He hires a lady to do ads. She puts them all on instagram where the only people who would see them are those already following. It's baffling. A random customer made a Facebook post on a community forum about us. That was more effective PR than anything I've seen come out of my boss and his team.
Regardless, though, it's still dead most days. While I don't rely entirely on tips, my average has become something like $15 a day. When the flow is good, I could get probably $50. Now, I'm lucky to get $20. To put into more perspective: The average customer tips about $1-$2. Blessed be the occasional person who tips $5 from a single drink.
I've been applying for other places, but I never hear back. With all my experience and certifications, you'd think I would at least get a rejection letter.
But I digress. I'll keep at my stuff, hoping I'll make it out in one piece.
